i've always had this fantasy that i'd make mixtapes for everyone, including songs for every day of the week, songs for each month, songs with all my friends names on them, et cetera ad nauseum. of course, like many things, i never got around to it, but today i decided that i would. the month one is tougher, cause i can't remember a lot of my ideas, but i decided the week one was doable for today. without further adieu, here are my songs for each and every day of the week.
1) monday, monday, by the mamas and the papas. i love these dudes.
2) hooray for tuesday by elliot smith - tied with ruby tuesday by the stones
3) ash wednesday by elvis perkins (perkins' sadness permeates through this song, referring to his father dying of AIDS and then his mother dying on one of the planes that crashed into the WTC on 9/11)
4) thursday by asobi seksu
5) friday night saturday morning by nouvelle vague (specials cover)
6) another saturday night by sam cooke
7) everyday is like sunday by morrissey (but the legendary gloomy sunday was close)
[this is good] that is a pretty excellent mixtape... I might just have to make it myself!
